If there's an unencrypted and open network in range, the little bubble in your menu bar will be green. If not, it will be either yellow or red.Next to the bubble coconutWiFi shows the number of wireless connections that are available. Open up the drop down menu by clicking on the bubble and you'll be able to get information on each individual network like channel or BBSID.
